4 Computer Interface
The computer interface of the DS560 System is a TTL level serial interface. In the standard configuration, data is transmitted to the DS560 on pin RX and transmitted out of the DS560 on pin TX. The default baud rate is 9600 with one stop bit and no parity.
In order to communicate with an external personal computer (PC), the TTL levels of the DS560 must be shifted to the RS232 levels used by the serial ports on PCs.The best way to determine if communication with the DS560 has been established is to observe the presence of the DS560 sign on message that is transmitted at 9600 baud when power is turned on. The sign on message for the DS560 is :
TOKENSUN: S/N XXXXXXX
Ver: 1.0
In the above messages the x’s represent the unit serial number.
